Every ZARsc token is minted, held and redeemed on Fireblocks. Here is why that matters.

Custody came first. Before the wallet, the listings or the brand, Supercoin had to decide who would hold the keys behind every ZARsc in circulation. The answer is Fireblocks.

Fireblocks is the institutional digital asset infrastructure platform used by more than 2,400 banks, exchanges and fintechs, and it has secured and moved over $14 trillion in assets. Its MPC custody technology is the industry standard for securing stablecoin reserves and mint-and-burn operations.

ZARsc is a Rand-backed stablecoin issued onto Solana by Supercoin, an FSCA-licensed Crypto Asset Service Provider (FSP 53458) under the FAIS Act 37 of 2002. [ It is built for one job: moving Rand value at the speed the internet already moves everything else.

Every ZARsc token is minted, held and redeemed through Fireblocks infrastructure. In practice, that means no single person, machine, or location ever holds a complete private key. Fireblocks' multi-party computation splits key material across separate, independently secured environments, so signing a transaction requires multiple parties and compromising one of them compromises nothing. These are the same custody rails trusted by some of the world's largest financial institutions.

That standard matters beyond Supercoin's own walls. ZARsc is built to live in many venues: exchanges, wallets, payment platforms and payroll rails that want Rand settlement without building custody from scratch. Every partner that lists or integrates ZARsc inherits the same institutional custody layer from day one. One rail, institutional security, built for scale.

Custody is one layer of a larger trust structure. ZARsc is backed in Rand, and Moore South Africa provides independent monthly assurance that reserves exceed ZARsc in circulation. Fireblocks secures the operational layer that those reserves stand behind: the minting, the holding and the redemption.

'We did not want to build custody. We wanted the custody standard that banks already trust, applied to the Rand. Fireblocks gave us that on day one.- Gideon Greaves, MD of Supercoin

South Africa is the starting point, not the destination. The IFWG has identified six local-currency stablecoins already issued in South Africa, and the category is growing because the underlying infrastructure has matured. Supercoin's ambition is a family of African currency-backed stablecoins, with ZARsc first and a multi-chain path ahead. As that family grows, the custody model does not change. Each token, on each chain, in each market, is secured the same way from its first mint.

Monthly assurance reports for ZARsc are always available for review via the Supercoin website. Partners interested in issuing, listing or integrating ZARsc can reach out to the Supercoin team via support@supercoin.co.za
